Project Overview

INSO — the International Nuclear Science Olympiad — brings national student teams together for a week of competition; the 2026 edition opened in Jeddah under Mawhiba, the Saudi Ministry of Education and K.A.CARE. The opening ceremony was a formal, protocol-led programme in a fixed conference auditorium with a national and institutional audience.

Technical Scope

  • Lighting design for a protocol ceremony: national anthems, speeches, presentations and video segments
  • Complete technical drawing package — plot, rigging, power, data and focus schedules
  • Depence pre-visualisation of the full ceremony before load-in
  • Timecoded shows built and validated against the ceremony running order

Delivery Model

The distinguishing feature of this project was the handover. The full package — design, drawings, previs and finished timecoded shows — was signed off before setup began, then handed to the client’s own operator to run on the night. Pre-visualisation carried the approval process, so decisions were locked in software rather than on site, and the on-site crew executed a plan that had already been agreed. It is a delivery model that suits institutional clients working to a fixed programme and their own operating staff.
